The Golden Lie is a Special Weapon in Lies Of P. This is one of the hardest weapons to obtain and is missable. To get it you will need to get your humanity level to the max. To do this you will have to lie and do the more humane thing during your playthrough. Each time you do something that affects you humanity level you will see a message on screen showing your current humanity level. These are the 4 levels (from lowest to highest):
Level 1: Your Springs Are Reacting.
Level 2: The Ergo is Whispering.
Level 3: You Feel Warmth.
Level 4: Your Heart Is Pounding,
Below you can find every event and option that will get your humanity up (Step 2). Also, note that not 100% of these options are needed (you can screw up 2 or 3 and still be able to pick up the weapon).
Follow these steps to get the Golden Lie weapon.
Step 1
In chapter 5 > Malum District, go into the building and pick up the portrait in the room to your left. Then, take the portrait to Geppetto in the Hotel (you will have to do this before the end of chapter 8).
Step 2
Here you can find every option in the game that will boost your humanity level.
In Chapter 2 > Inside The House On Elysion Boulevard finish the Weeping Woman’s side quest and pick the “She’s A Cute Baby” option at the end. (Guide Here)
In Chapter 2 > Krat City Hall Answer the phone before crossing the bridge and pick the “Human” option.
In Chapter 4 > Moonlight Town pick the “Give The Stalker’s Greeting” option (you will only be able to do this if you defeated the Survivor boss in Chapter 3).
In Chapter 4 > Path Of Misery use the Pray gesture (obtained by finishing Cecile’s side quest in Chapter 4 > St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel) at the statue found in the small building that you get to just before opening the double door to the cathedral bridge.
In Chapter 4 > St. Frangelico Cathedral Library follow the main path until you see a lift on your left. Use it to find Alidoro at the top. Talk to him and pick the “Venigni Works” option. Then, head to Chapter 3 > Workshop Union Entrance, head up the stairs and enter the small room on the left to find Alidoro again. Talk to him and pick the “Elysion Boulevard” option.
In Chapter 5 > Malum District you will come across a ringing phone on the main path just after the large area with the bonfire, elite enemy and enemies on the rooftops. Answer the phone and pick the Candle option.
In Chapter 6 > Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert finish Julian’s side quest and pick the “I Saw The Message She Left, Saying She Loves You”. (Guide Here)
After Chapter 6 and finishing Julian’s side quest, return to the hotel to talk to Polendina near the fountain and select the “Show The Wedding Ring” option.
After Chapter 6, talk to Antonia and pick the “Of Course” option.
In Chapter 7 > Grand Exhibition Galley follow the main path until you get to the rafters. As soon as you get to this area, look left and go down the ladder to find Belle. Talk to her for her to move to the hotel (make sure you do this before defeating the chapter 7 boss).
In Chapter 7 > Grand Exhibition Gallery you will come by a ringing phone on the main path (just after the area where the robot smashes through the gate). Answer the phone and pick the “Egg” option.
After defeating Champion Victor (chapter 7 boss) pick the “Hope Of A Cure” option.
After defeating Champion Victor, return to the hotel and talk to Polendina. Then, talk to Giangio (found in the hotel in the room to the right of the Gold Coin Fruit Tree) to get the Cure For Antonia. You will then have to take the cure to Polendina and select the “Use The Cure” option.
After chapter 7, talk to Eugeine to get the Four-Fingered Glove.
On the main path of the first part of chapter 8 you will see Alidoro. Talk to him and give him the glove. Then return to Eugeine and pick the “He Was Happy” option.
After Chapter 8, approach Antonia at the hotel for a short cutscene that will boost your humanity (only available if you gave her the cure).
From the Chapter 9 > Krat Central Station Street Stargazer, go through the arch and continue until you get to the cliffside. Here, go left to find a ringing phone. Answer it and pick the “Ergo” option.
After finishing Chapter 9, return to any of the previous phones and answer it. Select the “No” option and open the box (only if you got the previous 4 keys).
After finishing Chapter 9 and talking to Antonia on the top floor, go downstairs and talk to Belle. Accept her side quest and head to Chapter 9 > Krat Central Station. Here, go through the shortcut gate on your right and down the stairs. At the bottom, turn around and enter the train under the stairs. Inside talk to the NPC. Finally, return to the hotel, talk to Belle and select the “He Was Killed In Action Fighting A Puppet” option.
After defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood boss in Chapter 10, return to the hotel, talk to Venigni and select the “I Couldn’t Hear” option. After that, talk to Venigni again, go to the hotel Stargazer and listen to the King Of Puppet’s Message.
From the Chapter 10 > Relic Of Trismegistus Combat Field Stargazer, go through the cave and talk to Alidoro. Here pick the “Attack Alidoro” 2 times (you will only have this option if you have enough humanity) and kill him. After that, return to Eugeine at the hotel and pick the “I Think He Was Just A Talented Staker” option.
At the very start of Chapter 11, examine the red statues in the sand near the first stargazer.
In Chapter 11 > Arche Abbey Outer Wall, open the final trinity door (found at the bottom of the area with the 2 elevators and multiple floors). Inside, talk to the NPC and select the “Human” option.
After defeating Laxasia in Chapter 11, pick the “Giver Her Peace” option when talking to Sophia (if your hair turns gray, you are on the right path and have high humanity).
Pick the “Yes” option when talking to Geppetto near the end of Chapter 11 (story-related).
After defeating Simon Manus at the end of Chapter 11, pick the “I Liberated Her From Arche Abbey”.
Step 3
Finally, go to Geppettos room and pull the weapon from the portrait. If you still can’t do this, listen to records (in real time) until you have enough humanity. If you STILL can’t get the weapon, talk to Geppetto at the end of the game and select the “Refuse” option. Defeat the Nameless Puppet to get the “Rise Of P” ending (this will also boost your humanity).
